Dimitri Seluk to plan talks with Chelsea?

yayatoure.jpgA wave of shock has gone around the Football Transfer Tavern as it has been claimed by Metro that Chelsea are leading the race to sign Manchester City’s Yaya Toure.

The Citizens’ midfield linchpin has been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium in recent days and has claimed he does not feel valued at the club giving them the deadline of Saturday to provide him with a new deal or he will walk out and leave in May.

Despite still having two years to run on his current deal which pays no small fee at £220,000 per week, Toure is not happy and his agent Dimitri Seluk claimed earlier this week that: “If he signs a new contract in the next three or four days then OK. If not we will not wait and longer and will start negotiations with different clubs. Today is Tuesday, so it means by Saturday we will say; “Thank you. OK Yaya will leave in May”.”

Seluk further elaborated about the financial side of things, noting: “This is not about the money – it’s for many reasons. He is one of the best players at Manchester City but does not feel the respect of the staff. Only [City boss] Roberto Mancini respects Yaya.”

Of course this would be a huge blow for City and most fans here at the tavern feel a loss of this magnitude would cast a significant cloud over the Etihad.

Could Chelsea pull off a major surprise and swoop for Toure? Rate this rumour below.

Please explain how Seluk is planning talks with Chelsea given he isn’t Toure’s agent, in fact he isn’t a FIFA registered agent full stop, so he couldn’t possibly hold talks with ANYONE about ANY player. Unbelievable that this “story” (that originated in The Sun, I might add!) has snowballed into this, pathetic.
