The Republic of Ireland International has signed a deal that will keep him on Merseyside for a further five years and he claimed: “I’m over the moon. I’m glad to get it all done and to sign for so long at a club like this is a great achievement – I want to be here for as long as possible.”
For a player who only cost £150,000 from Sligo Rovers in 2009, David Moyes certainly found yet another star for next to no money, with Coleman able to play on both the right side of midfield and in his preferred right full back position in defence.
Coleman also offered his thoughts about the future at the high flying Toffees who are in with a brilliant shout of gaining European football this season after David Moyes recently guided them to sixth place in the Premier League. Coleman disclosed: “Signing a contract here is fantastic and I’m really looking forward to the next couple of years.”
The way Everton are going, our punters feel it could be a good couple of years for the 24-year-old Irishman.
