Arsenal have provided us with plenty of entertainment this season, but we all agree here at the Football Transfer Tavern that consistency remains their biggest problem.

For every 7-3 triumph over Newcastle, there is a 2-0 home defeat to Swansea – facts that have left Arsenal fans frustrated and led to them voicing their disapproval on more than one occasion this season.

Since the summer departures of Robin van Persie and Alex Song, a criticism from the fans has been the fact that Wenger and the board have been unwilling to dip into their pockets to try and replace these names and improve the squad.

There have been positive signs from summer signings Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud, and the emergence of Theo Walcott as a centre forward may go some way to solving some problems, yet Arsenal fans still crave new faces to cement their top four push.

Click on Arsene Wenger to reveal five Arsenal targets that could drastically turn their fortunes around this term.

only two of the players you mentioned are needed at arsenal, lucas biglia nd mapou yang mbiwa. Arsenal needs david villa’s positioning, goal sense, experience, shot on goal in front of defenders, mario gotze’s attacking prowess, his ability to think fast that santi lacks, creativity, goals, vision, adrian lopez, strootman’s resilence and ability to track back and gain possession, isco for depth, a keeper that will make scezsny serious, and anyone else he wishes
