We do like our Barcelona youngsters here in the Football Transfer Tavern and midfielder Sergi Roberto is a transfer target for both Sunderland and Fulham, according to talkSPORT.
The 20-year-old is yet to make a full breakthrough at Camp Nou despite impressing for Barcelona B for the last few years and he may be ready to leave the club in pursuit of first team football, much like Oriol Romeu did with his move to Chelsea in 2011.
Reports in Spain have claimed that the midfielder is preparing to leave Barcelona in the next few weeks with a move to the Premier League apparently top of his agenda.
Sunderland are looking to strengthen in the upcoming transfer window and Martin O’Neill has targeted adding some extra quality in the middle of the park – something Sergi Roberto could provide.
Fulham manager Martin Jol is also interested in bringing the talented youngster to Craven Cottage and is known to be a big admirer of the Spanish prospect.
It is thought that a bid of around £6.5 million would be enough to bring the youngster to England, although Barcelona are expected to play it safe by including a buy back option, again like Oriol Romeu’s £4.3 deal to Chelsea last summer.
