On transfer deadline day with all the intense rumours and speculation, it is always nice to get a transfer confirmed in the Football Transfer Tavern and Goal.com report that Fulham have signed PSV Eindhoven defender Stanislav Manolev for the rest of the season.
The 29-year-old Bulgarian international full back is the second arrival at Fulham today after the signing of AC Milan midfielder Urby Emanuelson on loan until June.
The left back, who has the option of a further two years at Craven Cottage, will fill the gap left by the departure of Stephen Kelly to Reading earlier this month in the Cottagers squad.
Manolev told the club website: “I came here to play but I know that I have to fight for my place. I am looking forward to playing the Premier League because I believe it is the best competition in the world.
“I know Martin Jol already because when I came to Holland, we played against Ajax when he was the coach. I hope that if I play well here then I will be able to stay beyond the summer.”
He has won 29 caps for his country, after starting out with Pirin 1922 before a move to Litex Lovech which was followed by a summer switch to PSV and the Eredivisie in 2009.
Martin Jol has been busy trying to reinforce his squad during the transfer window and Fulham fans in the tavern have been left satisfied with the activity completed so far at Craven Cottage.
