Galatasaray keeper open to Manchester United switch

Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have been left discussing replacement goalkeepers for David De Gea who could be set to depart in the summer and one name that has been mentioned is Galatasaray keeper Fernando Muslera.

Interestingly, Metro claim that he has added fuel to reports of a possible summer Old Trafford move by stating that it would be a “dream” to play in England

With De Gea’s future at Old Trafford uncertain, Sir Alex Ferguson could be in the market for a new shot stopper in January and reportedly Muslera has been marked as a possible £15 million transfer target.

The keeper told Metro via Haberturk: “The Premier League is my childhood dream.

“I always want to move forward in football. I started off with Wanderers, then Nacional, then Lazio and then, a step forward, Galatasaray.”

The Red Devils have worryingly conceded 29 goals so far this term – an issue that he is looking to address by strengthening his backline in January, starting by recruiting a new goalkeeper. The Daily Mail reported last week that Liverpool’s Pepe Reina and Stoke City’s impressive Asmir Begovic are also on the Old Trafford-club’s radar as Ferguson steps up his pursuit for a new first choice goalkeeeper.
