We’ve talked plenty about players who could be on their way into Anfield, but now the conversation in the Football Transfer Tavern has turned to one player who could be on his way out, with John Cross of the Daily Mail  informing us that Borussia Dortmund are keen on resigning Turkish international midfielder Nuri Sahin.Sahin only joined Liverpool in the summer on a season long loan from Real Madrid, but it appears Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is happy to offload him after starting him in just seven Premier League games so far this campaign.

The likes of Joe Allen and Steven Gerrard have been regular starters in the midfield positions, whilst young midfielders Jonjo Shelvey and Jordan Henderson have been pushing for starts following some impressive displays. Add to this the return from injury of Lucas Leiva, and it appears Sahin currently finds himself as the sixth choice midfielder at Anfield.

The news will come as a surprise to many Liverpool fans, as his signing in the summer was regarded as a major coup for Rodgers. Failure to settle, and the fact that he has been playing out of position by his own admission means his stay at Anfield has so far been disappointing.

Dortmund have registered an intrest in resigning the player who made his name in Germany before making the big money move to Real Madrid, although a move will depend on whether the Signal Iduna Park-based outfit can afford his £70,000-a-week wages.

Would you be disappointed to see Sahin leave Anfield early? Vote in our polls below.
