Graham set for Black Cats

graham.jpgWe knew that this week here at the Football Transfer Tavern would be a good one, but we just didn’t realise how good. Goal.com have now reported that Danny Graham is set to become a Sunderland player in the next 48 hours.

The lifelong Newcastle United fan has not exactly endeared himself towards his soon to be new fans, yet is still keen on pushing a move from Swansea City through. Graham has of course fallen down the pecking order behind the sublime Michu and has seen his playing time cut dramatically at the Liberty Stadium.

We have been discussing for most of the transfer window how he was looking for a way out and now Martin O’Neill has provided him with one. A fee of around £5 million has been agreed and the player is set for a medical at the Stadium of Light.

It had been thought Newcastle would swoop in with an eleventh hour bid for the player – hence Graham holding out for his dream move, yet the price put the Magpies off and a move to Sunderland has become his next best option.

Norwich City of course had showed interest in the player but a move back to the North East was always the forward’s preferred choice and now it looks like finally coming to pass. Despite scoring four times in his last eight games, Graham is desperate to leave South Wales and it has been claimed he also has a relationship with Michael Laudrup that makes Jose Mourinho and Iker Casillas look positively best friends!

Do you think Graham will win over the Sunderland faithful? Rate this rumour below.

Danny will have to win over his personal demons first.
There have been so many rumours about his personal problems (drink, drugs, marriage, you name it!).
    There’s something seriously amiss here!

Wish DG the best, but he really didnt have the skill to be in the Swansea team this year imo.
