Guardiola wants Liverpool man as first marquee signing

A man who just can’t keep his name out of the headlines is the topic of our conversation inside the Football Transfer Tavern once again, with Alan Nixon of the Daily Mirror reckoning Pep Guardiola may try to tempt Luis Suarez to Bayern Munich in the summer.

Suarez has been one of the stars of the Premier League this campaign, and yesterday bagged his 20th goal of the season in all competitions. However, as is so often the case with Suarez, the goals have unfortunately only told half the story, with diving and cheating allegations being thrown the Uruguayan’s way all season.

Some believe Suarez is growing tired of the constant criticism, and may be ready to quit English football.

Guardiola, who announced he would be joining Bayern only last week, is a big admirer of Suarez and has the advantage of his brother being the players agent.

Suarez only signed a new deal at Anfield in the summer, and has stated often that he is happy on Merseyside. But should another season go by without Champions League football, you wonder whether the lure of Guardiola may prove too tempting.

What do you think of this rumour? Can you see Suarez leaving Liverpool for Bayern in the summer? Vote in our polls below.

If the buyout clause is only $40m as rumored he can pretty much pick where he wants to play should he decide to leave Liverpool. There isn’t a big club out there that wouldn’t happily pay that.

The Manchester United Daily Mirror are willing to try anything they are told to do by the Bullying Old Hac Mr. Red Nose Ferguson to unsettle Suarez in the hope he goe’s because Ferguson is so jealous that Suarez is a LFC RED

LMAO What a load of crap. He’s just signed a 6-year contract and LOVES not onlt LFC but the city and the people. He’s revered there – he could have gone last season but he has demonstrated time and again, incredible loyalty. Complete non-story. ;)
