Metro thatArsene Wenger has lost faith in his defensive pairing at the back and is looking around for someone else.
The publication claim that Wenger is casting a little more than a wandering eye around the Premier League and has found someone he feels will fit the bill at the Emirates Stadium perfectly. Swansea’s Ashley Williams has found himself firmly on the radar of the Frenchman and given his recent performances it is no surprise.
Williams has lead Swansea to a historic trimumph claiming the Capital One Cup and their league form has been nothing short of brilliant either. With Michael Laudrup set to stay at the club for the foreseeable future at least, it remains to be seen if Williams will be tempted by a move away from the club he has made his name at.
Not only will Williams be attracting big attention as the summer draws closer but Michu will also despite signing a new deal and Laudrup is set to fend off potential big money moves from a host of suitors. Wenger for his part has finally admitted defeat and knows he will have to sign a commanding and assured centre back this summer – not to mention one who is proven at the level and probably doesn’t mind missing out on the Champions League!
Will Williams solve Arsenal’s defensive conundrum? Rate this rumour below.
