Kalou Deal Surely Too Good To Pass On, Even For Arsene…

Reports are suggesting Arsenal are ‘Gunner’ try again in their bid to sign former Chelsea star and current free-agent Salomon Kalou this summer.
A move was reportedly on in January but the move ended as abruptly as the rumour began. But now it seems Kalou has worked his way back onto Arsene Wengers wish-list.
It seems that Kalou is willing and hopeful of a deal but Wenger wishes to clear-out some of the clubs highest earners in order to free up funds for Kalous’ reported £70,000-a-week wages.
Players such as Arshavin – who could move to Zenit permanently after his loan spell if the Russians pay the £8m fee – Bendtner, Vela, Squillaci and Denilson all are on Wengers cut list.
It seems the players’ wages are making moves difficult however, Sunderland were reportedly interested in Bendtner but his wages were the stumbling block and the same can be assumed for Vela at Sociedad and Denilson at Sao Paulo.
Arsenal will have to move quickly for the 26-year-old as Liverpool and Schalke are both interested in the Champions League winner.
A move for Kalou would benefit both parties in my opinion. Arsenal are in desperate need of players who are used to winning trophies and Kalou has had years at Chelsea winning numerous competitions.
Although moved on by Chelsea Kalou still has a lot to offer a top Premier League side and to be used as a squad player with no transfer fee I feel he could benefit Arsenal in a similar way to Yossi Benayoun did on loan last season.
Now I’m not an Arsenal fan so I don’t know what the fans feeling on this move would be, however, on a free transfer I think any fans would struggle to come up with an argument against signing a multi-time Premier League, FA Cup and one time Champions League winner for NOTHING.

Arsenal is too cheap to pay his wages.

Why the hell would we be interested in him? We have Van Persie, Podolski and, very likely Giroud and M’Vila.
This guy fluffs his lines everytime.
I’m glad we won’t be paying his wages, it would amount to chucking money down the drain.

70k a week for a player who is mostly a bench player, all be it a quality bench player? Wenger doesn’t waste money like that.

@wc Wegner so called money smarts have left us without trophies for so long. Under Di Matteo, Kalou played a pivotal role for Chelski and taking a risk he can continue that form is worth 70k a week. We must stophaving such a small club attitude

As his bank manager, could you tell us what he earns?

Kalou would never warm the bench at Arsenal; He was benched at Chelsea because the Chelsea game was not based on wide players. once DiMateo took over he started using wide players and Kalou featured much more frequently. With him on the left, Ox in behind Van Persie, and Walcott on the right, Arsenal would be a genuine contender for the title.

Right and Spot on man. Arsenal is not too big for Kalou. He can finish well and be a great assistant to arsenal strikers just like gervinho.
