Metro have a fascinating claim for us here in the Football Transfer Tavern, as they think that Luis Suarez could well be on his way to Real Madrid in a last minute move.
The Spanish side have of course just officially announced that they have signed Gareth Bale this summer after a rather long saga and now it seems that they are also set to make a swoop for another forward – Luis Suarez.
The player has been linked with a move away from Anfield for some time now and it seems that finally a so called ‘giant’ of a club has decided to make a play for him.
After being told that he simply could not make the move to Arsenal, it now seems that the move to Spain could be on the cards.
Ironically enough, Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard once noted that: “There are only really two or three clubs he should leave this football club for if he is taking a step forward.
“If we don’t qualify for the Champions League this season he can go to Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich – and he can go with his head held high.”
Clearly Gerrard was hoping such a move would be after the recent campaign, which has seen the Reds get off to a flyer, and all without Suarez who is suspended. Obviously Real Madrid would have to pay top dollar for him, but Liverpool would be hard pressed to allow their star man to leave so late into the window.
