Liverpool duo not set for loan spells
Liverpool fans are sitting up and taking note here at the Football Transfer Tavern after the latest story from Metro that claims the club will not send either Suso or Raheem Sterling out on loan next season.
It has been rumoured that the club would indeed send either one or both of the young players out on loan to the Championship in order to gain some first team experience but that idea has been firmly shot down by Rodgers.
The Northern Irish manager claimed that: “It’s very simple, neither of them are available for loan, they’re both young players that have played a lot this year – they have been very much part of our group.”
Rodgers further elaborated about Sterling in particular who in the first half of the season was nothing short of sensational, noting: “Raheem has been outstanding this year, he’s only young and we need to nurture and protect him. We’ve got a very small squad and those two boys are an integral part of the group. That [loan deals] won’t happen.”
Of course Liverpool still believe they have an outside chance of making the top four and failing that, a Europa League position and it seems like it is all hands on deck at Anfield as the latter stages of what has been a long and difficult season approaches.
Do Sterling and Suso require loan spells or can they be relied upon? Let us know your thoughts below.
