Liverpool eyeing Bundesliga ace

Liverpool fans here at the Football Transfer Tavern are getting more and more interested in just what their back line could look like next season and the claims from Sky Sports over the possibility of luring a top class defender from Eintracht Frankfurt is something that is particularly exciting.

Of course not only do the club have to face the retirement of Jamie Carragher but they also have to face the possibility of losing Daniel Agger and are in major need of a shake up at the back. We have already discussed the possibility of the club making a move for Ashley Williams in the summer given his impressive performances for Swansea City but another player altogether is on their radar.

Carlos Zambrano has placed himself on Brendan Rodgers wish list and at only 23 years of age he would certainly be an investment for the future. After being a star in the Frankfurt team this season following promotion, the side are currently sat riding high in fourth place in the Bundesliga and it was only natural that attention would be focused on their star players.

The Peruvian international has already been subject of an approach from the Reds with Frankfurt director Bruno Hubner claiming that: “They have asked about him but there has not been an offer yet.”
