Things just seem to be getting better and better for Liverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it is reported by Metro that the club have completed three more summer signings.
After beating Manchester United, courtesy of the third Daniel Sturridge goal in as many games, things are looking up for Liverpool fans – literally – as they sit on the top of the Premier League table.
As one of our punters quips, after a summer of nothing but worry and uncertainty, this is both deserved and unexpected for Brendan Rodgers’ men and a move to Merseyside is a much more attractive proposition than a few months ago.
The Luis Suarez saga aside (which we suspect has a few more twists and turns in it yet,) deadline day has thus far seen the additions of Tiago Ilori (pictured), Mamadou Sahko and Victor Moses.
Ilori and Sakho are players who have have been targets of Northern Irishman Rodgers for some time now and the manager will be thrilled to land them both so close to the wire. Moses also came onto the Reds’ radar later on in the window and the Nigerian international joins on a season long loan.
Ilori spoke to the club’s official website after the move and claimed: “It feels great being a Liverpool player – coming to the Premier League has always been a dream for me.”
Both Ilori and Sahko have been brought in to add some much needed solidity at the back of the side and Moses will battle with Raheem Sterling, Philippe Coutinho, Luis Alberto, Iago Aspas and Jordon Ibe for a starting berth on the flanks.
