Here in the Football Transfer Tavern, Metro have interested Liverpool fans by claiming that Brendan Rodgers is considering making a move for Anzhi Makhachkala’s Willian.
The Brazilian has been the talk of the tavern this week with firstly Manchester City noting that they were not interested in the player anymore given their change of manager and then the love of both Jose Mourinho and Andre Villas-Boas for the player.
Liverpool are of course facing up to life without Luis Suarez, who they may claim is staying, but in reality the majority of punters here think he is on his way out of Anfield, leaving the club with a need for a star player and also a bag of cash courtesy of Arsenal.
Given Willian craves a move to the Premier League and is certainly for sale, the prospect of a move to Liverpool would certainly interest the 25-year-old.
Of course AVB is a long-term fan of the winger and will look once again to lure the player this summer, and would be able to offer the prospect of challenging for the Champions League – something that whilst Rodgers and Liverpool may desire, they may not necessarily be able to achieve.
That of course is something Willian will demand should he make the move, especially in a World Cup year and the subsequent seasons.
