Liverpool Linked With Bargain Barca Talent As Aquilani Returns?

Any Liverpool supporter who watched Charlie Adam trudge forward last season with all the gusto of a carthorse or Jonjo Shelvey aimlessly kick the ball away knows how much Liverpool need a top draw creative midfielder, amazingly they already have one on the books.

Alberto Aquilani has been quietly going about the business of unlocking SeriA defences all season long, and it’s not beyond the realms of possibility according to The Mail  that Brendan Rodgers may have the sense that Dalglish lacked and ensure the Italian appear not only on the Anfield books but also the pitch.

There have been rumours suggesting that Aquilani could be released be Liverpool and become a free agent available to join any club of his choosing. However The Mail  quote the player’s agent as denying this as a possibility:

‘There is absolutely no possibility that Aquilani can become a free agent in order to then decide what to do.’

‘I don’t know if he wants to stay at Milan, we shall see. We just have to wait and see what happens and what Liverpool decides.’

After watching Liverpool toil last season it would surely be silly of the club not to look to ensure Aquilani’s future is in Merseyside.

One of Liverpool’s major problems last season was converting chances into goals and The Mail are also reporting that Barcelona forward Cristian Tello could be recruited in a bid to ease this problem. The 20 year old Spanish youth international is out of contract next summer and Barca are believed to be willing to let Tello speak to any club meeting their £7 million asking price.

In compraison to the mega bucks paid for misfiring young players such as Carroll and Henderson £7 milion for a player with Tello’s talent looks a bargain.

please bring back aquilani. Liverpool will only do themselves good by keeping the only creative midfielder who can play anywhere from the midfield. Please rodgers just keep him even if he is just kept as a squad player. There is no better midfielder in liverpool than him. Dalgish got it all wrong when he loan him out. Thank God he was sacked. He was a complete racist as he selected only his own average players to those who can deliver.

Yeah because Suarez is from Scotland, isn’t he? Racist my @rse! The phrase is ‘top drawer’ not ‘top draw’ and Aquilani didn’t even play enough games to activate his buyout clause an. Had a rather poorreturn in goals and assists, so unlocking Serie A defenses all season long looks generous in the extreme. Do a bit of research!

Suarez is a proven racist. Or did he choose to not play those 8 games for some other reason?

If you read the comment I was replying to, you will see that he was calling Kenny a ‘complete racist as he selected only his own average players’ my reply questioned why then did he pick Suarez? So go back to playing with your Lego, or something less taxing to your ‘intelligence’!

Anyway, proven by what? In a court of law was it? Any witnesses for the defence or prosecution? Oh, just one man’s word against another’s? Yeah, you’re a proven sheep!

Aquilani should stay, Kenny’s mistake last season was just that he has too much confidence the new boys he bought over the existing ones. That cost the club poor result. Rodgers shudnt make to muchpurshase. Use ds boys den by january let go d ones who re not worth being there

Worthless? Won the league with us and Blackburn, steadied the ship at end of last season, had one bad season (still won silverware), but after all he’s done for the club, you say that? Your support and opinion are worthless!

Aquaman is a star, both Kenny and Roy got it all wrong, he was the best player in our preseason, then they loan him out? The lad is a true box-to-box midfielder, a good passer and a clever player. Its time he played for us and BR has made the correct decision

Harsh on Shelvey who is very young.

Aquilani has to be worth a shot in theory but I don’t think he wants to be at Anfield he just wants to be at home, his agent knows it, Milan etc know it and are attempting to get him for nothing. Milan will probably try and sell him on for 10m next year.
