A player thought to be on the move in the January transfer window by many punters in the Football Transfer Tavern is Blackpool’s Thomas Ince who was fully expected to be joining Liverpool in the next few weeks.

However it appears that some negotiations between the two clubs are still to be carried out with Mail Online’s Joe Bernstein confirming that Liverpool have not yet matched the Tangerines’ £6 million valuation.

Brendan Rodgers has already spent £12 million on bringing Daniel Sturridge to Anfield and wants to fetch Ince back to the club barely 18 months after he was sold under previous management despite his clear potential.

The winger has been in tremendous form for the Bloomfield Road-based outfit this season and Rodgers is convinced that the 20-year-old is the man to solve their attacking issues while giving them a push towards a stronger second half of the season

Liverpool actually have a 35 per-cent sell-on clause with Ince and that means the Anfield club can snap up him for a bargain price although they will first have to up their offer to agree any deal with Blackpool who are keen to keep Ince until the summer.

Should Liverpool pay the asking price? Vote in our polls below.
