Liverpool open to letting youngster move on
We at the Football Transfer Tavern still marvel at how quickly things can change in football and according to the Daily Mirror today is no different with Brendan Rodgers performing a U-turn on the loan situation of two of his young Liverpool players.
It had previously been claimed that neither Raheem Sterling or Suso would be allowed out on loan this March, yet now one of the two seems set for a spell away from the club. The Sunday People have claimed that Spaniard Suso is set to be farmed out in order to gain some first team experience so he is sharp for the beginning of next season.
The Championship seems the most likely destination for Suso and the 19-year-old will not be short of bidders. Raheem Sterling on the other hand is to be kept firmly under lock and key at Anfield with approaches from a host of clubs being rejected.
Not only did Leeds United, Cardiff City and Bolton Wanderers want to take the England international out on loan but others have made enquiries and Brendan Rodgers is not willing to listen. Sterling may only be 18-years-old but his ability is not in doubt and he is a talent the Northern Irish manager wants to hone in his own way at Anfield.
