Liverpool star happy to have remained at Anfield

Luis SuarezSo the transfer window is finally closed and we have all begun to take stock here in the Football Transfer Tavern.

One thing we would not have expected to say come the start of September was that Luis Suarez was going to remain at Liverpool, but what’s more – he is happy about that fact, according to Metro.

The Uruguayan forward has repeatedly been linked with a move away from Anfield and of course has been a summer long target of Arsenal.

For Gunners fans, the chase for Suarez is now a distant memory after they netted German sensation Mesut Ozil, but Liverpool fans had to remain on edge that little while longer.

Given that sale of Ozil, Real Madrid had some cash to spend and Reds fans were worrying right up until the very last minute that they would come in and splash it on Suarez.

The former Ajax forward himself noted however: “I closed this subject a while ago. I have already taken the decision to stay at Liverpool.

“If I play I am talked about, if don’t play it’s the same. They’ve already put me in every team.

“In that moment I said if something happens then good, but if I was staying at Liverpool I’d be delighted. This is over a while now.”

Clearly Liverpool fans can breathe easy for now, but one thing they can proudly note is that the club are sitting on the top of the Premier League table with nine points out of nine and have done all of this without their so called talisman.

He may even struggle to get back in the Reds first eleven, what with the scintilating form of Daniel Sturridge!

Will Suarez commit to Liverpool long-term or is he bound to reassess his ‘happiness’ in January? Let us know your thoughts below.
