Mirror Football emerges that Liverpool are plotting a move to bring Chilean midfielder Manuel Iturra to Anfield in the summer, turning heads around the bar.
Iturra will be available as a free agent once his contract expires at Malaga and although he has held talks about signing a new deal with the La Liga club he is free to begin talks with possible suitors about his future.
The 28-year-old has made 17 appearances for Maneul Pellegrini’s side this season and with Malaga seemingly unwilling to pay big bucks to keep him at the club, he could be on the way to the Premier League.
Brendan Rodgers has targeted the versatile midfielder for a bargain transfer swoop as he looks to bolster his central midfield ahead of a possible European tilt next season.
Malaga have already seen key men Santi Cazorla and Nacho Monreal move to the Premier League with Arsenal and Iturra could become the next to arrive with Liverpool ready to bring him to England in a bargain swoop.
Iturra possesses experience and international pedigree too, having accumulated more than 30 caps for the Chilean national side.
