Liverpool’s chase for Dutch ace hots up

The January transfer window is really hotting up now and news is breaking from Goal.com that Liverpool are ready to challenge Galatasaray for Dutch star Wesley Sneijder leaving chins wagging around the busy bar.

It was thought that Sneijder was set to make the switch to Turkey with Galatasaray after Inter agreed an £8.3 million fee with the club but it now appears that the 28-year-old has delayed a decision as he awaits Premier League interest.

Liverpool are now building an attractive financial package to lure Snejder to Anfield during January after stepping up their pursuit this week.

“A number of meetings are scheduled in the next 24 hours but there is serious interest from Liverpool and Wesley would like to see if they follow that through,” a source close to the deal told Goal.com. “This is a big decision at this moment in his career from a football and personal perspective.”

Reports suggest that Liverpool held ‘constructive’ talks with Sneijder’s representatives this week as they seek to use the wages freed by letting Joe Cole and Nuri Sahin leave the club and Brendan Rodgers is ready to bring the Inter Milan outcast to Merseyside.

Could this Dutch ace be set for an Anfield move? Vote in our polls below.
