Punters in the Football Transfer Tavern are interested to hear the claim from the Daily Mail who note that winger Scott Sinclair has finally ended his nightmare spell at Manchester City, for now, by joining West Bromwich Albion on a season long loan.
After failing to impress at Chelsea and then rebuilding his career at Wigan Athletic and Swansea City, the player earned himself a move to Manchester City and it seemed that he was finally ready to live up to the potential he had always shown.
Fast forward six months and the move has proven to be a total disaster with Sinclair now more famous for dating a tabloid favourite in Helen Flanagan. In a similar situation to when he left Chelsea, Sinclair has now decided to show what he can do in a more modest team.
West Brom are keen to bring in some top talent and have identified Sinclair as the man to give them pace on the wings and also net some of the goals they will miss from 17 goal hitman Romelu Lukaku who has now gone back to Chelsea. Sinclair is about to enter the seventh loan spell of his career so far and this time has West Brom paying his wages to boot.
Steve Clarke’s men do have the option to buy after the loan period expires and given they look set to miss out on Salomon Kalou and also are in serious panic over the future of Nicolas Anelka, Sinclair looks set to be a key asset for the Baggies this season.
