Manchester City chase Spanish playmaker
It’s last orders in the Football Transfer Tavern and as the bell chimes, Daily Mail journalist Alex Horlock claims that Manchester City are set to spend £17 million on Malaga attacking midfielder Isco bringing many up to the bar.
Malaga are impressing in La Liga and the 20-year-old has one of the driving forces behind their notable form, contributing five goals from midfield attracting attention across Europe in the process.
City boss Roberto Mancini wants to have the deal sorted in next month’s transfer window but he is planning to loan the youngster back to Malaga for the rest of the Spanish season.
According to Horlock, Isco came through the same youth academy that City’s David Silva graduated from and it was Silva who alerted the City hierarchy to the ability of his fellow countryman His performances in the Champions League have also been eye-catching with a brace against Zenit Saint Petersburg in September.
Horlock came clean that Malaga have a release clause of £17.5m and it appears that City are willing to pay the fee to bring the midfielder to the club.
The question remains whether the club need another creative midfielder or would Mancini be better spending his transfer kitty on more urgent requirements? Vote in our polls below.
