One minute it seems that Neymar’s future is as certain as Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a hat-trick and the next it seems as up in the air as Fernando Torres even getting an attempt on target to us here at the Football Transfer Tavern and according to Sport the latter statement remains to ring true.
The youngster has long claimed that he will decide on his future after the 2014 World Cup and it had been thought that his destination would be Barcelona, yet now the Spanish publication seem to feel Manchester City may well pip them to the post.
Neymar has long spoken of his love for Barcelona and indeed Lionel Messi, yet with the move of Pep Guardiola to Bayern Munich and his desire to work with the successful manager things now seem a little less certain. Neymar even declared his love for Bayern not too long ago. Sport claim that Txiki Berigistain – the Manchester City director who is formerly of Barcelona of course – has held a meeting with Neymar’s agent Pini Zahavi in a shock move to lure the player.
Of course Berigistain knows Neymar all too well having been a driving force behind the pursuit of the wonderkid during his time at Barcelona and it comes as no surprise that he is continuing his drive to land the Brazilian now he has crossed over to City.
