In news that will have both sides of Madrid reaching for the tequila here in the Football Transfer Tavern, it has been claimed that Ramadel Falcao is open to a move abroad by AS.

The prolific striker was all anyone wanted for Christmas and it had been though that the Colombian wanted to stay in Spain after making the country his home and feeling there were similarities between his native South American nation and Spain making the 26-year-old much happier. However, the claim that: “there will be another league in the future” does not exactly bode well for either side of Madrid.

Atletico obviously want to keep the player who has already netted 17 times this season and has been the anchor of their success, and Real see the player as someone who could finally end the Barcelona dominance of La Liga.

With Mourinho on shaky ground and Real bracing themselves for the departure of star man Cristiano Ronaldo, it was hoped that by securing Radamel Falcao, not only would Florentino Perez win the re-election but he would also win back the favour and trust of the fans and unite what is an increasingly a divided dressing room.

Falaco also claimed that he is looking no further than his current club until his contract runs out in three years time, yet the player was also keen to make it clear that no club has been ruled out – and when asked about a potential move to Manchester City he claimed his agent knew that answer, quipping: “you will have to talk to Miguel Angel Gil Marin.”
