Manchester now has two top clubs who rival eachother for the title on a consistent basis and here at the Football Transfer Tavern after the report in the Daily Mirror we think they could be fighting it out once more for something else.

Manchester City may currently own Mario Balotelli who has a camouflaged Bentley, yet should City acquire Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang they would have secured themselves the self appointed ‘king of bling’ in football.

The 23-year-old Gabon international forward has been attracting the interest of a host of clubs around Europe after lighting up Ligue 1 and plays with diamond encrusted boots. That aside the player would be available for around £10 million and is open to a move from Saint-Etienne.

Manchester United have also been linked with the striker but given they already have four top class forwards it seems the club most likely to land the player would be their cross-town rivals. City also have four top strikers but how long Mario Balotelli stays at the club is anyone’s guess.

The player himself is not short of confidence, claiming: “There have been contacts with the Manchester clubs. I’m being followed in Italy too, especially by Fiorentina, and another big club.”

Newcastle and Spurs are also thought to be keeping tabs on the forward.

Do you think he could cut it in the Premier League? Vote in our polls below.
