Our Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern aren’t giving up on their Premier League dream just yet, and could be boosted by AS’ report that Julian Weigl could be on the way.

The Citizens have fallen off the pace somewhat in the Premier League title race recently with a loss against Liverpool seeing them lose more ground.

They managed to gain some back, though, yesterday as they beat Burnley and the Reds drew so if Chelsea lose on Wednesday belief will surely grow.

It’s widely held here by the bar, though, that the squad needs additions for Pep Guardiola to properly get his playing style across, and it looks like Dortmund’s Weigl could be the next to help that cause.

The young ball playing midfielder is a real class act already and reportedly has interest in him from the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid so we could be set for quite the bidding war.

City need to make sure they really go for him if they want him, according to our landlord, as the two Spanish sides will certainly be able to compete with them financially.

Would you take Weigl, City fans? Let us know below!
