A sensational claim has been made in Gazzetta Dello Sport that has brought the Football Transfer Tavern to a standstill. The Italian publication claim that Inter Milan are ready to swoop for Edin Dzeko.
The Manchester City striker has proved that he always scores when he is given the chance to play, and has become somewhat of a super sub this term. This has apparently placed him firmly on the radar of the Serie A giants, who are looking to land the player in the summer.
Inter realise that City are unwilling to let Dzeko go now, given the issues with Mario Balotelli and the injuries and slight drop in form of Sergio Aguero. Of course it is not like City have any European football to worry about but they are still firmly in the Premier League title race, and as they learnt last term, it is never over until Aguero scores and the final whistle blows.
Roberto Mancini’s former side are confident that they can land the striker in the summer if the Citizens land one of their primary striking transfer targets and will wait until then to bid for the player. For his part, Bosnian international Dzeko is settled at City but if the chance to be the first choice striker was to arise at a club like Inter, a move could be considered.
