‘Rotten apple’ unlikely to join Milan
It has been one of the most talked about rumours at the Football Transfer Tavern and the Mario Balotelli to AC Milan saga seemed doubtful when Silvio Berlusconi criticised the player and sensationally the Daily Mirror report that he has gone even further.
The 22-year-old is one of the most criticised players in the sport and cannot seem to do right for doing wrong. After the shame of grappling with his Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini in training, it seemed a return to Italy might come to pass. Step forward Silvo Berlusconi who initially claimed on Italian radio station, Radio Mars that ‘Balotelli did not convince him as a man.’ Berlusconi did not just stop there and has now created a fire to rival Mario’s house on bonfire night!
The ex-prime minister claimed: “The name of Balotelli never came into my thoughts. He is a rotten apple and could infect every group where he goes, even Milan.” Further elaborating, he stated Mario did not fit in with ‘Milan’s style of behaviour’.” With comments such as these, it seems unlikely that Balotelli will earn a move to the club during his tenure.
Of course, Balotelli played for Milan’s great rivals Inter prior to moving to the Etihad Stadium in 2010 but the Italian international has been infamously pictured wearing the colours of the Rossoneri off the field of play before.
