Manchester United have been handed a transfer boost as Crisiano Ronaldo has pleased the Football Transfer Tavern by claiming he wants to return to Old Trafford to finish his career, according to The Guardian.
The Real Madrid ace has told the Spanish club that he will not be signing a new deal at the Bernabeu and so the club now have to decide what they will do with the winger financially.
United could make a cheeky enquiry this week but are more likely to wait until January or even next summer before making a concrete bid in order to push the price down with the stars’ contract slowly dwindling.
Real would currently want to get the £80 million back that they paid for the Portuguese superstar with Tottenham winger Gareth Bale set to put the La Liga outfit back another £85 million.
Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken with new Red Devils boss David Moyes about bringing Ronaldo back to Old Trafford and the newly retired Scotsman is happy to help out with the deal as his personal relationship with Ronaldo and Real Madrid is positive.
Moyes is still looking for that major summer signing himself but a central midfielder is the target for now with Ronaldo’s team-mates Luka Modric and Mesut Ozil at the top of his list.
Ronaldo could well be in his final year in the Spanish capital then and a deal may be put in place in the coming months to bring the winger back to the North West of England where he claims he wants to finish his career.
