Manchester United have shocked the Football Transfer Tavern by wanting yet another striker, this time in the shape of Juventus poacher Mirko Vucinic according to talkSPORT.
Obviously having Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney leading the line is not enough for Sir Alex Ferguson as he wants to add another of Europe’s top talents to his impressive United squad in the summer.
The long serving Red Devils boss is losing faith in youngster Danny Welbeck after the England international has only managed to find the net once in the league all season so far.
The loss of Dimitar Berbatov was not seen as vital for United in the summer but Ferguson wants one more striker to heat up the competition for places next season with Javier Hernandez possibly on his way out.
Vucinic has been joined by Chelsea old boy Nicolas Anelka in Turin and Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente has also agreed to join the club in the summer on a free transfer leaving the Montenegro international striker with a big decision to make.
The 29-year-old’s agent Allesandro Lucci has revealed that his client relishes the competition for places but would also welcome the interest of a club such as Manchester United.
“It is not up to me to say, but Manchester United is a club of world level, as well as Juventus,” Lucci said.
“So it is normal that this kind of teams follow Mirko.
“Do we have problems with the arrival of some top players at Juve? Absolutely not, it would only be a good thing for him.”
