Despite seeing little progression in terms of actual league position of late, the Manchester United fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern can’t really complain about the nature of life under Jose Mourinho as things currently stand.
Unbeaten in the Premier League for months, the Red Devils look like a good work in progress under his watch and, while the title itself was always going to be a touch too ambitious, look well-placed for a title challenge next term. With that in mind, the United fans in the Tavern are discussing potential recruits to help supplement the squad next term.
Considering that, reports emanating out of Italy have sparked debate amongst them. According to Firenze Viola, the Old Trafford titans have cast keen eyes over midfielder Milan Badelj of Fiorentina. The 27-year-old is out of contract next summer, reportedly sparking interest from the Theatre of Dreams, where they are said to be closely monitoring his situation.
Scouts from the Red Devils are understood to have watched him in action during the club’s 4-0 thumping against Roma.
They could apparently face competition from the likes of AC Milan and I Giallorossi, for a man who has certainly proved impressive for La Viola since joining from Hamburg in 2014. Perhaps not the biggest household name in the world, our United fans generally seem to think he’d be a good addition.
