Martin Jol Interested In An Underachieving Spurs Crock?

According to the Daily Mail Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Tom Huddlestone, might be on his way to their London rivals in a transfer which will see the injury prone midfielder move to Craven Cottage to replace former skipper Danny Murphy, who left the club at the end of his contract to move to Ewood Park.
Martin Jol, who is the current Fulham manager, signed Huddlestone when he was Tottenham manager back in 2005 and has since gone on to prove himself in his limited game time.
Due to a string of injuries since the beginning of the 2010/11 season, Huddlestone has only made 22 appearances in all competitions but still managed to create an impact on the team by scoring 2 goals and assisting a further 3.
His injuries are clearly a problem for the Spurs board who are yet to offer the versatile midfielder a new contract despite his clear qualities which he has demonstrated over his 7 years at the North London club.
With one year left on his current contract, Fulham will be able to buy the 25 year old Englishman for a bargain price of £4 million, despite captaining his club against Inter Milan in a historical 3-1 win. Surely captaining a club in the Champions League, being one of his many accolades, Fulham must surely want Huddlestone at this cheap price who can directly takeover from Murphy’s position, and his captaincy badge too.
Despite his clear positives, with the likes of Dzagoev and Moutinho being linked to the club who have a cleaner bill of health, is it time to say goodbye to Huddlestone for good?

YES!!! Have loved watching the Huddle’fro spray passes about the park, landing ‘em on a dime at will… Yet I don’t find him the easiest of players to fit into differing team formations… Great player on his day, but Spurs need to be moving in a different direction…

What a load of rubbish Big Tom was sadly missed and his ankle was through Harry This was because Harry playing him with injections. I thought Hudds signed a new deal before his injury and if he is not fit no one will have him Avb will do well to look at him before selling hi at 6ft3 you get a defender of corners and free kicks and passers ove 15 feet with back spin and missile accuracy are rare.

Of all the soccer fantasies that get circulated to stir up the punters this time of year, this is the most silly. Huddlestone is good but has suffered from injuries but his potential is first rate and is an integral part of the Spurs squad.–So why would they sell him to Fulham of all clubs?—Dream on.

Completely overrated. Great passer of the ball but too slow.
It’s funny how only Spurs supporters rate him.
Get what you can for him.

Lots of nonsense on many blogs about Hudd leaving. We would be crazy. There are not many players of his abilities around. Great passing, good vision. fantastic shot. Can do with being a bit fitter, but most imporantantly needs to concentrate better. We would br crazy to sell him. Gives us something that we really lacked in quite a few games last season

I think it’s his contract that will be up at the end of next season. I honestly think we should tie him down to a long term contract. His injuries haven’t been career threatening. His ability to knock a ball 40 yards right on to the feet of Bale and Lennon is something we need to have. It adds depth to the team.

Stupid disrespectful article. Tom is the best passer of a ball in the league. The sport is football not track and field. How fast is Scholes, Pirlo? He has about 3 yrs left on his deal and wouldn’t be sold for 3x the price mentioned.
