Melo Happy To Join Juve After Snubbing Arsenal?
Just had someone from Channel 4’s Football Italia in the Transfer Tavern, who while playing darts was telling all and sundry that Brazilian enforcer Felipe Melo “would be happy” to make the switch to Serie A rivals Juventus, according to comments made by his agent.
Football Italia’s man claiming that there are “reports” that say La Vecchia Signora “will turn to” to the Viola midfielder if they are unsuccessful in their attempts to prise Gaetano D’Agostini away from Udinese.
“Felipe is in love with Florence and its fans, but evidently the interest from a prestigious club like Juventus, who are battling for the Scudetto and Champions League, cannot leave him indifferent,” Melo’s representative Umberto Fusco is quoted as saying.
“If the Bianconeri directors reach an agreement with Fiorentina, then he would be happy.”
It said that the former Almeria player’s “price tag has risen” after Melo’s performances for Brazil in helping them win the Confederations Cup in June.
Apparently “newspapers suggest” that the fiery Brazilian is “now worth £20million”, which “can be reduced significantly” if Juve “add players” in some form of “swap deal” for 25-year-old Melo.
So what sort of liquid refreshment fuelled Football Italia to say this? Would Melo really go to Juve after signing a new deal in Florence and snubbing Arsenal? Should this rumour Fly or Die?
