Everton fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have been patiently waiting for any new players arriving at the club during the January transfer window but David Moyes has today informed them that they have to wait right until deadline day to see any activity at Goodison Park.
The Toffees have a history of making last minute transfers with the likes of Steven Pienaar and Nikica Jelavic arriving on deadline day last year.
Moyes, who is hoping that his side can still challenge for that money-spinning fourth Champions League place, told The Sun that he will be leaving it right to the last minute to conduct any transfer business:
“We’ve tended to be Christmas Eve shoppers, so hold on to your hat,” Moyes said.
“Myself and the chairman have said there was a little bit of money we could do some business with.
“That hasn’t changed so it makes it harder to get the level of player you might be looking for.
Everton will also be desperate to keep midfielder Marouane Fellani on Merseyside with a number of Premier League clubs eyeing up a last minute bid while also trying to strengthen in attack.
