M’Vila set to snub England for Russian switch

Yann M’Vila’s future has been a constant topic of conversation in the Football Transfer Tavern, with talkSPORT sources reckoning a host of Premier League clubs linked with the midfielder are set to be left disappointed.

QPR, Everton and Tottenham are all keen on signing the young Frenchman, although it appears M’Vila is set to snub them all in favour of a move to Russian Premier League side Rubin Kazan.

Harry Redknapp was especially keen on the holding midfielder, as he looked to build a side capable of avoiding relegation. Having signed his fellow countryman Loic Remy from Marseille last week, Redknapp had hoped his £7 million bid would be enough to secure the 22-year-old’s services.

Tottenham had also stated an interest in the player following the news their holding midfielder Sandro is set to miss the remainder of the season through injury.

But French newspaper L’Equipe reports M’Vila is on his way to Rubin, with the midfielder tipped to sign a four-year deal with the Russian outfit worth over £3m a season.

Is this another example of a player making a move for financial rather than footballing reasons? Vote in our polls below.
