In news that will have Europe not only reeling but panicking to boot, the Daily Mail have claimed that Pep Guardiola has been handed a £240 million transfer war chest for the summer by new employers Bayern Munich.
We did wonder why Pep was so keen to turn down the resources at Chelsea and join the German giants, and this could well be why. Well that and a little known owner called Roman Abramovich that is.
Whilst Bayern are not exactly in need of a major revamp – or any at all really, Pep made sure funds were on offer before he penned his three year deal with the Bavarian giants and now has two targets at the very top of his list.
The first is everyone’s top target – Radamel Falcao who is expected to cost around £50 million and will be declaring his love for Germany within the next few days. The second is far more worrying for fans of the Premier League and Liverpool in particular.
Pep has placed £40 million rated Luis Suarez at the very top of his wish list and it has been claimed that the Catalan manager will stop at nothing to land the controversial forward. Liverpool fans of course have seen Fernando Torres depart for big money and the loss of Suarez would go down like a ton of bricks on Merseyside.
The club are aware that Suarez wants to be playing in the Champions League and if the Reds fail to breach the top four this campaign, the Anfield club could be bracing themselves for huge summer bid.
