Swansea City striker Danny Graham is a player in demand during this transfer window and today Wayne Veysey from Goal.com has popped by at the Football Transfer Tavern to declare that Newcastle United are the latest club who want to sign the striker.

Veysey understands that Alan Pardew is ready to hijack Graham’s proposed move to Sunderland by making a formal offer for the former Watford hitman.

Both Sunderland and Norwich City have submitted £4 million bids for the forward according to the Daily Mail with the striker looking set to leave the Liberty Stadium during January but as a massive Newcastle fan, a move to his beloved Magpies may be the best option for Graham.

Graham has fallen down the pecking order at Swansea after the arrival of the brilliant Michu and he knows he may have to leave to gain regular first team football.

Martin O’Neill wants to bring him to the Stadium of Light to take some pressure off Steven Fletcher while Pardew is seeking added depth in attack after losing Demba Ba to Chelsea earlier this month.

The 27-year-old has scored four goals in his last seven games for the Swans and would be a vaulable addition to either of the North East sides during the January window.

I personally am a massive fan of this move, the recent signings are all promising and positive transactions to get us up the table. However not one Englishmen let alone a Geordie, go get Danny Graham and let him lead the Toon attack as a local lad and a black and white through and through, who understands the Premiership he will wear the shirt with pride and the fans will love him for it. Go get him he will drive the team forward, a knowledge of the local area, the local demographics and history that the foriegn players understandably cant quite grasp and when it comes to Derby time he will be well up for it. For me it’s a must signing!!!

I’m 100% for this. As long as he stays away from the pints and pies like the last local boy to lead the attack.
