As hotly reported yesterday in the Football Transfer Tavern, Newcastle striker Demba Ba is set to leave St. James’ Park in January and it now seems that Alan Pardew is lining up Ukraine hotshot Artem Milevskiy to replace him.
The Sun suggests that the Dynamo Kiev star is out of contract in the summer and rather than losing him on a free, Kiev are reported to be ready to accept a bid of £6 million.
The 27-year-old had previously been linked with a move to Liverpool when Roy Hodgson was manager but the Anfield club were put off by the £14 million requested by the Kiev side.
Demba Ba looks certain to leave the club after being unable to agree a new deal and they are ready to let him leave immediately so that Alan Pardew can bring in a quality replacement.
However it seems that the Magpies will face competition for his signature and the striker’s agent Barry O’Connor confirmed: “There is plenty of interest from more than one club in England.
