Thomas Ince seems to be the name on everyone’s lips as the final day of the transfer window gets underway here in the Football Transfer Tavern as the Daily Mail note he is a wanted man.
The Blackpool winger has been linked with a move to Liverpool almost constantly over the last couple of seasons and now there are a trio of other clubs waiting to battle it out for him.
The player has been impressive since coming to fame at Blackpool and as one of our punters quips, it is no shock to see Premier League heavyweights come in for the young star.
Now Newcastle United, Everton and Tottenham are all circling around the £8 million rated player as the transfer window draws to a close. The bids, should they reach the £8 million mark, will be accepted by the Tangerines, yet Ince himself could well refuse a move.
As one of our punters quips, the player already turned down the chance to join Premier League new boys Cardiff City, who also made the £8 million bid for him as he wished to stay close to his family in the North West.
It does remain a possibility that history could well repeat itself with Ince junior perhaps professing his desire to stay at Blackpool and play under Ince senior – until January.
Once the January transfer window opens however, the player will be more than open to a move, feeling he has the right amount of experience under his belt to play at the top level. Should a bid come in and be accepted, Liverpool have to be informed of this and given the chance to put in a counter offer.
