Platt weighs in on Balotelli future
It is every day at the Football Transfer Tavern that we seem to be talking about Mario Balotelli who is linked with a move here, there and everywhere and Sky Sports have updated their news on the player with Roberto Mancini’s number two David Platt now playing down speculation over a move.
Balotelli is of course one of the most colourful characters in football and has either become a cult figure for some or exactly what is wrong with football for others. Nevertheless, the player is not without talent and has been linked primarily with a move to AC Milan and also a move to second placed Napoli according to an earlier report this month by The Mirror.
Training ground scuffles and controversy has followed Balotelli and despite all this, David Platt has claimed: “I saw that speculation yesterday but I’ve not heard anything. As far as we are concerned I think he is still a City player. I don’t think there is anything going to happen.”
Even Roberto Mancini has claimed he thinks Balotelli will stay, noting: “No, it is not true, Mario stays here. We didn’t have any requests about Mario or other players.” Of course Mario’s agent has been doing his job and more this window, claiming his client is worth more than the Mona Lisa and could end up anywhere in Europe.
