There are a few interested glances over the pool table as Metro journalist Jamie Sanderson claims that Porto are ready to sell Chelsea target Jackson Martinez in the January transfer window.

The Stamford Bridge outfit are hunting a centre forward in the transfer market and have been made aware of the availability of the 26-year-old Colombian striker.

Sanderson puts his pool cue down to explain that Martinez only signed for the Portuguese side in the summer but the Portuguese side could be ready sell the in-form forward who has hit nine goals in nine games for his new side.

Despite scoring three times in their victory over a struggling Sunderland outfit yesterday, the Blues have been short of goals this season and a striker to support Fernando Torres is at the top of their transfer agenda.

The highly regarded frontman is interesting a number of clubs across Europe and a bid of around £20 million may be enough to secure his services with Porto needing funds to strengthen their squad in the new year.

Punters are used to seeing Chelsea linked with a powerful Colombian striker but could the Porto marksman be a cheaper alternative to Radamel Falcao? Vote in our polls below.
