Ajax ace Christen Eriksen is one of the hottest young talents in European football and someone who punters in the Football Transfer Tavern would love to see gracing the Premier League. However his agent today suggested that his future remains in Holland despite the ongoing interest.
The highly regarded Danish international has been repeatedly linked with a move to one of the giants in European football including Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal but despite endless speculation, the 20-year-old remains happy at the Amsterdam side.
His contract expires in the summer of 2014 and his agent, Martin Schoots has told Sky Sports that clubs are interested in signing the attacking midfielder, saying: “For the last couple of weeks, and also because of the holidays, the press have kept their distance, which is something (Eriksen) does not regret.
“I’m not saying that this means no-one is interested as it would be strange for a player who has been followed by the biggest clubs in football since he was 14-years-old to not be on their radar anymore.”
He added: “He is improving strongly and for the third consecutive season he is again improving his goal average in the league.
“Before Ajax’s trip to Brazil (for their winter training camp), Christian’s focus was on the big match coming up against Feyenoord and that is what he wants to keep focusing on.
“Christian just wants to concentrate on his football, but you never know what might happen in football.”
Eriksen has accumulated 31 caps for the Danish national side, scoring twice while featuring as part of the squads that participated at the 2010 World Cup and at Euro 2012.
