Stoke City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have placed down their pints to hear the latest mutterings from Sky Sports after their manager Tony Pulis claimed to be looking to buy this January transfer window.
The club have established themselves as a fierce competitor in the top flight since their arrival in 2008/09 and whilst they may still face some stick over their style of play, they are a solid Premier League outfit and very difficult to beat – especially at the Britannia Stadium.
Tony Pulis spoke to Sky Sports news about the possibility of bringing in some new faces before the transfer window is out and claimed: “We are looking to bring one or two others in if we possibly can. I think we need to freshen it up. We are certainly weak in one or two areas. We are trying but it has to be right for the football club, as always.”
The club have also had to face speculation over the future of Kenwyne Jones who has been linked with a move to Swansea City, and Pulis vented his irritation over this when asked about a potential move by quipping: “Watch us training and see if Kenwyne is there, and then take a view of it from there.”
