Here at the Football Transfer Tavern we were surprised when QPR boss Harry Redknapp missed out on Joe Cole, yet there has been one acquisition at Loftus Road. The Daily Mail have reported thatIsrael international Tal Ben Haim has joined the club.
The struggling West London side are currently everyone’s favourites to go down even with Redknapp at the helm and need to shore up their defence fast. Redknapp has turned to a player he knows well in order to do this and feels the former Bolton, Chelsea and Portsmouth man can stop the rot in a leaky defence.
After a shock win over Chelsea in midweek, Redknapp feels that there is light at the end of the tunnel with survival being attainable.
Ben Haim has signed a short-term deal at Loftus Road and Redknapp has claimed he will be vital if the side are to defy everyone’s expectations and beat the drop. Redknapp claimed: “Tal’s a great professional with vast experience and I’m confident he’ll be a really useful addition to the squad. His attitude is first class and the fact he can play anywhere across the back four is obviously a big bonus for us. He just wants to play. He’s not here for the money or anything like that. He just wants to come in and do his best for the club.”
