QPR release Dyer
The club have today released Kieron Dyer after the player’s career at the club never really got going. Dyer of course was hailed as a huge talent once upon a time, yet injuries have taken their toll on the player who is without a club once again.
QPR and Redknapp cannot afford to carry any passengers – especially not one who plays as little as Dyer and the former Ipswich Town, Newcastle United and West Ham United player has seen his contract terminated with immediate effect.
Manager Redknapp confessed: “I’d like to thank Kieron for his services to QPR. If he can stay clear of injuries I’m sure there’s clubs out there that will offer him the chance to play football. He wasn’t in my plans and I think he’s got something to offer someone, so we wish him all the best.”
The player may have been considered a coup once upon a time, but since joining the club in 2011, he only managed to make four starts and a further four appearances as a sub. In a heavily documented debut for the Hoops, Dyer was injured just five minutes into his new start against Bolton Wanderers- a massive blow for someone who has struggled so much with injury throughout his career.
