It is the undisputed tie of the round in the forthcoming Champions League knockout round and we at the Football Transfer Tavern cannot wait for the Real Madrid clash with Manchester United and the return of Cristiano Ronaldo and it seems neither can the Daily Mail.
Ronaldo has given an interview to the official Champions league magazine and it certainly includes some corkers. The player firstly talks about Real Madrid and just how much of a chance he thinks they will have in the clash of the titans. He claims: “I believe things will go well. In my opinion Real Madrid have a better team, although we have to show that on the pitch because United are a very united team and always have been in recent years.”
Whilst most people obviously want to hear how Ronaldo thinks his side will do, they are more interested in how he feels about returning to a club he spent six years at and the forward did not disappoint. He was glowing in his praise for the club and Sir Alex Ferguson, gushing: “It will be a match in which I will feel a lot. I was there for six years and I have a lot of friends. It will be a match with a lot of emotion. Sir Alex taught me the basis of football.”
Whilst United fans may be hoping that the lessons as first taught by Fergie temporarily fail during the two ties, Ronaldo is determined to get Real their coveted La Decima.
