Bacary Sagna has caused a bit of a stir here at the Football Transfer Tavern after an article in the Daily Mirror where the player does not exactly convince us over his future with Arsenal.

The player has been subject of rumours over his long-term future at the Emirates Stadium and many of our punters here at the tavern doubt he will be at Arsenal for too much longer. The player himself has claimed: “I’m under contract with Arsenal, I give my all when I’m under contract with my club. It’s a difficult question.

“I would like, before leaving, because I will leave one day or another, to win something with my club. I don’t want to answer yes or no, because you never know in football what can happen, but personally I give everything for my club.”

Sagna is under contract until 2014 and it is understood that he would be offered a one-year deal after that, but the player is not too convincing when talking about the deal. He also commented on former team mate Robin van Persie and his sensational form at Old Trafford, claiming: “He carried the team all by himself last season. He’s doing it again with Manchester United this season.”

What remains open to debate is the Gunners fans views about the player who has recently endured a difficult period at right back, not looking like his consistent self we have grown so used to since he arrived in the Premier League from Auxerre in 2007.
