Injury hit Scott Parker could well be set for a move across London in January as Harry Redknapp looks to link up with his former skipper in order to steady a ship that is sinking faster than the Titanic down at Loftus Road.
In the middle of a game of pool, the Daily Mail’s Mel Henderson decided to spice things up a little bit and tell us that Parker is top of Harry’s wish list this January and his arrival would be seen as a major coup by QPR and their fans.
Parker himself has just returned to action after a lengthy lay-off during which time Sandro has more than established himself as the main man in the heart of Spurs midfield, leading to questions over Parker’s future at the club. Despite Parker’s contract having two and a half years to run, given AVB’s fondness of culling players over the age of 30, Parker’s future, car parking spot and indeed invite to the Christmas Party could all well be under threat!
It seems likely that AVB will be willing to listen to offers for the England International, with Spurs willing to accept something close to the £5.5 million they shelled out for Parker initially – a small price for club owner Tony Fernandes and QPR to pay if the battler can bring some sort of solidity to a team that folds quicker than our landlord when the stakes are raised in a poker game.
